CONTEXT 

 

The creator of a well-known mobile app, XYZ Mobile, was in the process of putting together a comprehensive set of terms and conditions to govern how their app should be used.

 

These terms and conditions were necessary to safeguard the app’s interests, lay out user obligations, and guarantee adherence to all applicable laws and regulations.

 

The main objective was to lay out the regulations and standards for XYZ Mobile app users. 

 

These terms would describe the functions of the app, user responsibilities, data privacy rules, intellectual property rights, and dispute resolution procedures. 

 

XYZ Mobile sought to enhance the user experience while preserving its legal rights by providing transparent terms of use.

 

During the registration process for the XYZ Mobile app and through a specific section in the app’s settings, users would have access to the Terms and Conditions. Before accepting the terms, users would have the option to review them.

CHALLENGE 

 

The business needed to find a way to hire a copywriter with legal experience to draft these terms and conditions. They needed to be translated into the primary target country languages, which would include Spanish, French, and German in addition to English. The terms and conditions had to be translated after being written by the legal copywriter, so XYZ Mobile also had to find the appropriate professional translators with legal knowledge.

 

First and foremost, it was crucial to be able to speak with the copywriter frequently while the content was being created in order to make sure that it adhered to the law. Failing to do so would eventually hurt the business and prevent XYZ Mobile from being able to market its products legally.

 

Then, copywriters, translators, and the company needed to be able to communicate during the translation process in order to guarantee that local laws in the target countries would always be respected.

To maintain the confidential nature of the contents, everything had to be done in a totally secure setting.

 

Last but not least, for corporate reasons, XYZ Mobile needed a system that they could own, through customizing the user interface (colors, buttons, logo, etc.), so that their teams would adopt it from this project and for the next similar projects that would come as these terms and conditions would evolve over time, so re-creating the content and further translation was a very real possibility.

OUTCOME

 

After extensive research, the management team of XYZ Mobile actually discovered one platform—the Ya-Hub platform—that would meet all of its needs. There, the integrated live chat feature allowed users to securely store and send documents over https in a user-specific area of the cloud.
